About HPFI

Membership

HPFI relies on the general membership to participate in the planning and implementation of all the activities that are organized. You are welcome to become a member of HPFI - just fill out this form and we'll contact you regarding the payment of your yearly membership fee of $10.00.

Committee

The Hamilton Pride Festival is planned and organized by a committee of nine representatives, elected by the general membership. These nine individuals coordinate a team of dedicated and talented volunteers to put on all of the events for HPFI. The committee meets at least once a month, to discuss and make decisions regarding all the issues pertaining to Pride. If you would like to attend our meetings, please feel free to join us. We would value your input.

Minutes and Documents

The minutes of our meetings can be made available to members upon request. Other documents may become available, and links to those documents will be placed in the appropriate page on the website. If you are looking for a specific document and can't find it on our website, send an e-mail to info@hamiltonpride.com.

By-laws

The Hamilton Pride organizing committee follows an extensive set of By-laws (pdf). This ensures the accountability of the Directors, and enables HPFI to operate in an open and fair manner. Please take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with them.

Elections

Elections for all Director positions are traditionally held at the Annual General Meeting, held in September of each year. The term of election follows the fiscal year, October 1st to September 30. To learn more about the positions and responsibilities of becoming a director, read Section 8 and Section 9 of the By-laws.
